Shane Raynor writes:
The British Methodist Church has voted to boycott Israeli-produced goods and services from the West Bank because of Israel’s “illegal occupation of Palestinian lands.” (Next step: Boycott “Zionist” brands from Ahmadinejad’s no-buy list perhaps?) This is yet another example of a church playing the boycott card without fully considering its impact on the little guy– essentially an attempt to change people’s hearts through their wallets. One has to wonder what would happen if pro-Israel U.K. Methodists (I know they’re out there somewhere) withheld their tithes and offerings from the church until next year’s conference.

This is a biased and one-sided decision that is deeply to be regretted.
There is now a “Methodist Friends of Israel” group!
