Amos Trust's Ben White
Via Assist News:
A small group of people on a boat from Cyprus carrying aid and hope for besieged Gaza’s population and organized by Jewish groups worldwide had their hopes dashed in late September. Their vessel was taken over by the Israeli navy and denied access to Gaza.
The boat was flying a British flag and its passengers included citizens of the US, the UK, Germany and Israel. Two journalists were also on board.
The trip launch followed the release of the U.N. Human Rights Council report charging Israel with a breach of international law in its violent interception of a Gaza-bound aid flotilla on May 31.
A story by CNN reported that Richard Kuper of Jews for Justice for Palestinians, one of the organizers, said, “Israeli government policies are not supported by all Jews. We call on all governments and people around the world to speak and act against the occupation and the siege.”
CNN added that organizers said in an initial statement, “The boat will attempt to reach the coast of Gaza and unload its aid cargo in a nonviolent, symbolic act of solidarity and protest — and call for the siege to be lifted to enable free passage of goods and people to and from the Gaza Strip.”
According to the New York Times, a spokesman for Israel’s foreign ministry, Yossi Levy, told Israel’s Ynet News that the boat’s attempt to break the naval blockade of Gaza was “a completely unnecessary media gimmick which should never have been born. This is a trick of hatred and publicity for people who don’t care about the love of Israel and don’t deserve more than a footnote.”
However, Canon Garth Hewitt of Britain’s Amos Trust and “A Just Peace for Palestine,” had a different response. He told ANS in a recent e-mail, “This was an incredible example of Jewish prophetic witness which reminds me strongly of both Amos and Micah.”

Amos Trust's Garth Hewitt
Utterly, utterly insane.
With breathtaking comments like this, why do Amos Trust think people should take their Just Peace For Palestine initiative (run by Ben White) seriously?
